I'm back
That day, that day
When I sat in the sun
And I thought and I cried
’cause I’m sad, scared, small
Alone, strong
And I’m nothing
And I’m true
Only a brave man
Can break through
And it’s all okay
Yeah, it’s okay
-- Natalie Imbruglia "That Day"
Back from vacation. Back from recovering from vacation. Back from recovering from the work that overflowed because I not only went on vacation but had to recover from it. Anyway, I'm back.
Went to NC for a week and played in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Cherokee Indian Reservation, hiked on Grandfather Mountain, and rode horses on Sugar Mountain. Took lots of pictures and still didn't get much sleep. We had a good time though.
This past weekend I was in a very good friend of mine's wedding and everything went very well. It was an excellent ceremony and there were a couple of places where there just wasn't a dry eye in the place. You see, his new bride's father was diagnosed with some form of cancer and was given six months to live. This was something like four months ago and he wasn't in very good shape. She really wanted him to be able to give her away so they moved up the date and he was in good enough shape to do it. When she and her father danced it was a very heart wrenching scene, knowing that she will probably never dance with her daddy again.
